Privacy Policy — Mangatronic

Last updated: September 17, 2026
Effective date: September 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Mangatronic (“App”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our mobile application and related services (“Service”).

We designed Mangatronic to process your photos on your device whenever possible. This policy describes both current practices and features that may be introduced in future updates (such as optional accounts, cloud sync, or advertising).

Topic Mangatronic approach

Account Not required in current versions; optional sign-in may be added later
Product analytics No dedicated product analytics SDK in the current v1 scope
Crash reporting Sentry in release builds — technical errors only, not your photos

Contact form Opens your mail app; we do not receive your message unless you send the email
Purchases / ads Processed by app stores or ad partners (e.g. Unity Ads) when enabled
App promotion TikTok App Events SDK on Android — campaign attribution and install/usage events; not your photos

3. Information we process

3.1 Photos and camera

If you grant permission, the App accesses:

  • Camera — to take photos;
  • Photo library / storage — to import images and save exported pictures.

Images are used to render manga-style artwork, previews, and exports. Processing is performed on device using our image engine unless a future cloud feature explicitly states otherwise and you opt in.

We do not automatically upload your photos to our servers in the current version.

3.2 User-created content

The App stores content you create, such as:

  • one-shot editor state (effects, frames, bubbles, text);
  • story projects (titles, page layouts, templates, chapter text);
  • backup files (e.g. .mtronic story backups);
  • exported images saved to your gallery through the system share/export APIs.

This data is stored locally on your device in app storage areas managed by iOS/Android.

3.3 App settings and preferences

We store preferences locally (for example):

  • language choice;
  • color theme / palette;
  • import resolution limit;
  • animated background toggle;
  • dominant hand;
  • export format and quality;
  • watermark / full-export unlock state;
  • liked catalog items (effects, frames, bubbles).

These are kept in on-device storage (e.g. SharedPreferences / app sandbox), not on our servers in the current version.

3.4 Contact / questions

When you use Contact / Questions, the App opens your system mail client with a pre-filled message to contact@mangatronic.com.

  • We do not receive your email or message unless you choose to send it from your mail app.
  • Any email you send is handled according to this policy and normal email correspondence practices.

3.5 Optional account data (future)

We may offer optional sign-in (e.g. via Google or Sign in with Apple) using a provider such as Supabase.

If enabled, we may process:

  • a stable account identifier;
  • email address or name if provided by the identity provider;
  • authentication tokens required to maintain your session.

We will update this policy before enabling accounts and describe retention and deletion options.

3.6 Remote configuration and in-app messages

We may fetch non-personal configuration or promotional / informational messages from a remote service (planned: Supabase Remote Config or similar).

Typical payload fields: message id, title, body text, locale, display dates, priority. These messages are not tied to your photos.

If messages are cached on device for offline display, they remain in local app storage until refreshed or the App data is cleared.

3.7 Purchases and unlock status

If you buy premium features or subscriptions, Apple or Google processes payment. We receive purchase confirmation / entitlement status from the store, not your full payment card details.

Unlock state may be stored locally and/or validated through the store’s APIs.

3.8 Advertising (when enabled)

If we display ads (including rewarded ads to unlock exclusive catalog items or export options), advertising partners (currently Unity Ads) may collect or receive:

  • advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android);
  • IP address;
  • device type, OS version, language;
  • ad interaction events (views, clicks, completions).

We show an in-app consent choice before ad SDKs start where required (e.g. GDPR, ePrivacy, App Tracking Transparency on iOS). You can limit personalized ads through that flow and your device settings.

See the partner’s privacy policy for details: Unity Privacy Policy.

3.9 App promotion and campaign measurement (Android)

On Android, we use the TikTok App Events SDK (TikTok For Business) to measure how our user-acquisition campaigns perform (for example app installs and launches after someone sees a Mangatronic ad on TikTok).

The SDK may automatically report standard app events configured in our TikTok Ads Manager account. We do not send your photos, story text, or exported images to TikTok through this SDK.

Depending on your device settings and applicable consent choices, TikTok may collect or receive:

  • advertising identifiers (e.g. Google Advertising ID on Android);
  • app package name, app version, and install/launch events;
  • device type, OS version, language, and timezone;
  • IP address and network-related metadata;
  • Google Play Install Referrer data (Android);
  • in-app purchase events if purchase tracking is enabled in the SDK.

This data is used for advertising attribution, campaign reporting, and app promotion optimization—not for manga image processing.

See TikTok’s privacy policy: https://www.tiktok.com/legal/privacy-policy. Use of the SDK is also subject to TikTok’s Business Products (Data) Terms.

3.10 Diagnostics and crash reporting

In release builds, the App uses Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) to collect crash and error reports so we can diagnose stability issues.

This may include:

  • crash stack traces and error messages;
  • device type, OS version, and App version;
  • anonymous session identifiers assigned by Sentry;
  • optional screenshots or UI hierarchy metadata attached to error reports (not your photo library content).

We do not intentionally send your photos, story text, or exported images to Sentry. Reports are used for diagnostics only, not for advertising.

Sentry is disabled in debug builds during local development.

See Sentry’s privacy policy: https://sentry.io/privacy/.

3.11 Debug tools

A hidden debug log screen (activated from Settings) may display technical information for troubleshooting during development. This is intended for diagnostics and is not shared automatically.

4. How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide core App functionality (image processing, editing, export);
  • remember your preferences;
  • enforce premium / exclusive content rules;
  • process purchases and restore entitlements;
  • show optional in-app messages;
  • respond to support requests you send us;
  • diagnose crashes and improve App stability;
  • measure and improve our marketing and user-acquisition campaigns (TikTok App Events SDK on Android);

10. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the data, including:

  • keeping photo processing on device by default;
  • storing app data in the OS sandbox;
  • minimizing data sent to servers in the current version.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version in the App and update the “Last updated” date.
